DashPass is a modular, mobile solution designed to increase the efficiency and safety of the school dismissal process at K-12 schools. Using DashPass, students remain safely in the classroom until parents are automatically detected upon arrival to campus. This ensures all students are kept in the safest place possible: the classroom. No more mass dismissal curbside where safety and order are difficult to maintain.

*COVID-19 Update: DashPass offers an exclusive feature that allows schools to regulate or ‘throttle’ dismissal to match curbside capacity maintaining correct social distancing. Using this feature, schools set maximum number of students that can be simultaneously dismissed and DashPass will not allow the next student in queue to be released from class until a previous parent has been detected leaving campus.

Using a mobile application on each authorized pickup parent’s phone, DashPass is notified when a parent has crossed a ‘geo-fence’ around campus set by school administration. The appropriate teacher(s) and/or staff are  notified directly of the arrival, and the student is released to go to pickup area. DashPass detects the departure and releases more students in the queue up to the maximum capacity set by the school.

At the heart of the DashPass solution are 3 systems: the DashPass App, The Teachers and Staff School App, and the School Administration app. When a school is enrolled, the system links itself to the student information system, where classes, students, teachers, and parent/guardian information is managed. It then allows the school to set up dismissal windows and determine the geo-fence area around the school.

Those students walking to/from school each day are registered with administration and appear in each teacher’s class list designated as a ‘walker’. That student is dismissed to a monitored exit of the school.

DashPass Standard and Gold plans include carpool management. Parents self-manage the creation of a carpool and designate/authorize drivers for pickup.  An authorization workflow is triggered to ensure that all guardians are in agreement. When a designated driver arrives, all students in the carpool are queued for release.

DashPass understands that parents can drive to different schools to pick up students. While the carpool interface in the app shows all the students to be picked up, the system only queues those students at the driver’s current location..

As cars are queued upon arrival, those without DashPass will advance in the queue until met by a staff member who can manually dismiss the student(s) with the DashPass Teachers and Staff app.

If a driver is not registered in DashPass, school staff must follow local procedures to authorize the release of students.

DashPass sends a notification to the parent’s mobile phone when the student has been released from classroom.

DashPass is a hosted solution licensed annually on a per student basis. Pricing is based on total number of students and plan selected.

For a limited time, DashPass is free for schools and organization with up-to 250 students.

Once a school is registered and configured, parents are sent a link to download application.

Yes.  the DashPass is now available in English, Spanish (Español), Portuguese (Português), Haitian Creole (Kreyòl), French (Français), & German (Deutsch)!

No, DashPass does not track, collect, or share location data. The system sends the location of the school to the phone, and the phone location services notify DashPass when the user arrived at the school.

DashPass offers two ways to do this: Hands-free and Manually.

Hands-free requires you to allow DashPass to receive Location Notifications
when you arrive at school. This is done by choosing “Allow all the time”
on your phone’s permission settings.

Manual mode requires you to open
DashPass manually when you arrive
and are SAFELY stopped at the school.

This is required when choosing
“Allow only while using the app”
on your phone’s permission settings.

The DashPass app installed on your phone is notified when you arrive at the school and checks to see if it is during the dismissal time.  If it is, the mobile app sends a signal to the system asking to release your student(s).  Likewise, when you depart the perimeter, the phone notifies the app that you left, and the app notifies the system that the students have been dismissed.

If you allow DashPass to receive notifications automatically, there is no need to interact with your phone while driving.

If you choose to only allow DashPass to receive notifications when it is in the foreground on your phone, then you must open the app once you are safely parked at school.

Follow your school’s procedures. Typically, you will go to school and will move to the front of the car line, where you will see a school staff who will dismiss your student(s).
